The Reverend Whitworth Ferguson III started as our Pastor on July 23, 2006. Prior to being called to our church, Skip served as the Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Washingtonville, New York.  

Skip is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, where he is currently working on his doctorate. In 2004 Skip was a Fellow at the Engle Institute for Preaching at Princeton.  He has also served as Chaplain in the Pediatrics Unit and the Oncology Unit of Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, New Jersey, and as Chaplain to a Separated and Divorced Persons Support Group in Hopewell, New Jersey.

Originally from Buffalo, NY, Reverend Ferguson spent 15 years in the business world before entering the ministry.  He earned his B.A. in Economics from St. Lawrence University , his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School.  

Skip began his career practicing law in Chicago.  Later he worked as a marketing/strategy consultant for startup companies and firms involved in turnarounds for the NORAM Group, LTD, in Buffalo.  Prior to entering Princeton Seminary Skip was Editor of Management & Finance Publications for The Economist Intelligence Unit in New York City.

A lifelong Presbyterian, Skip is an ordained Elder and Trustee. He served the church in many ways, including stewardship, membership, and as an Adult Ed leader.  A sample of his community service includes serving on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Buffalo, the Child Care Coalition of Western New York, and the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.  He is also an accomplished writer, contributing articles to Christian Century magazine, and Knowledge@Wharton.

Skip’s wife Pat is a marketing research manager for AARP Services in Washington, D.C.
