Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization that welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to the goal of eliminating poverty. Habitat for Humanity brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing. Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity has built and rehabilitated some 70,000 houses with families in need, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing. Houses are sold with no profit made. Homeowners contribute “sweat equity” and house payments are recycled to build additional homes.
Members of the Manassas Presbyterian Church congregation dedicate their time and talents to a number of Habitat for Humanity projects in the local Manassas area. Additionally, a group of congregational members dedicate a week of time and talents during the summer months to assist a needy family in attaining their dream house. In addition to these significant contributions of time and talents, Manassas Presbyterian Church provides periodic financial donations to Habitat for Humanity.
