Stephen Ministry, is a ministry which equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those in our congregation who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances.
Stephen Ministers are committed Christians who receive 50 hours of initial training in caring ministry skills and concepts; who visit another person regularly and dependably and offer support and care; who participate in regular support and supervision; and who receive continuing education and skill building throughout their years of service. The PBS "Religion and Ethics" news show recently aired an eight-minute feature on Stephen Ministry that vividly describes the life-changing ministry happening in thousands of congregations. See the video.
Everyone goes through difficult times. Having a Stephen Minister to care, to listen, and to remind you of God's love can help you get through times of confusion, stress, or loneliness. For more information, you may contact our Stephen Leaders: Charlene Bradley or Gene Barndt, or Pastor Skip.
